This lesson covered general concepts concerning the many roles a teacher must play when teaching. A teacher must be able to transition through the many roles as the classroom can be a very dynamic learning environment. Sometimes the teacher will need to be a prompter, asking follow up questions to encourage the student to think more or elaborate on the subject. Other times the teacher will need to simply be an observer, ensuring the class is flowing properly and answering any questions the students may have. The unit also discusses the motivation, skill levels and the different types of learners. The differences in attitude between younger and older learners, as well as the wide array of skill levels that a teacher may be presented with. All students must be handled with care and sensitivity as each of their situations may be very unique.
