This unit describes Present Tense. There is Present Simple, Present Continuous, Present Perfect, Present Perfect Continuous. Present Simple is used for habitual and routine actions, permanent situations, commentaries, newspaper headlines, present stories. Present Continuous is used to talk about an action that is in progress at the time of speaking, background events, to describe developing situations. We use Present Perfect when we walk about finished actions that happened at an indefinite time, when we talk about something which began in the past and is still true now. And, Present Perfect Continuous is used to describe a recently finished, uninterrupted activity which has a present result, to talk about an incomplete and ongoing activity, when we want to say how long it has continued.
