In this unit I learned how to create a lesson plan. So far, this was my biggest knowledge gap for the TEFL course. I have no background in education and therefore, this was the first time being introduced to the concept of lesson planning. However, it was not nearly as daunting as I had imagined. I am a very organized, list oriented person, so this type of thinking came very naturally to me. I anticipate that the hardest thing for me as a new teacher will be picking activities that will fit the time frame. I remember as a student, if an activity was too hard or drawn out, the class would loose interest and become unfocused. Similarly, if an activity was too easy and too quickly completed, the teacher would be left without something else to occupy our time and the class would again, loose interest. Having an activity that requires very few materials and which could be adapted to many different learning objectives would be helpful for this dilemma.
