This unit analyzes the qualities, roles and responsibilities of both teachers and students in a classroom enivironment. It explores the characteristics that are important in being a good teacher as well as the roles that should be carried out at various points in time during a class session.
It looks at the behavioural and academic expectations in different categories of language learners. Important roles and qualities were elaborated in this unit being of importance to succeed in motivating students of different learning categories.
I learnt that the social climate of the classroom can signigicantly impact the development of student behaviour as well as how teachers interact with students.
Also we look at the different motivations, behaviours and experience that each group will bring to the classroom. we explore reasons for learning including students with different customs living in a target languange community or studying english for specific or academic purposes or because they want to improve their english generally. And finally the students' responsiblity for their own learning and how we can encouraging this.
