This unit has shown how important it is to recognize parts of speech. This helps us to analyze sentences, understand them and construct good sentences. It analyzes how sentences are separeted into different parts of speech and thoroughly explains the importance of each category.
It covers most of the commonly needed areas of the English grammatical system. I learnt that the simplest form of structure is the basic sentence A sentence must consist of at least a subject and a verb but will usually feature more words than this. Many words in English can have more than one job, or be more than one part of speech. so to analyze the part of part of speech, we need to know what job is this word doing in a sentence. I have learnt to identify the rules and exceptions that teachers need to address in tge classroom.
Finally as teachers of language, we need to be able to analyze the grammar, and the grammar that exist within statements we make. we should be able to communicate,in the simplest way possible to our students that basic parts of grammar are parts of speech, and each part of speech has a certain function within a sentence.
