Swepsonville, North Carolina TESOL Online & Teaching English Jobs
In this first unit, I can say that I learned about the two important constituents of the teaching-learning process, the teacher and the learner; and the different language levels and their classification. For the teacher (s) and the learner (s), we can do a parallel between the two constituents. What makes a good teacher and what makes a good learner; what are the roles of the teacher and what are the most important elements in the learning process for the students (age, motivation, nervousness...etc). We can also add the Teacher’s and learner’s motivations.
In addition, I learned that any teacher should have a strong personality and a good relationship with their students, have a sensitivity to the students temperament and needs. Their goal should be giving their best to have successful students. They need to care about teaching and care more about the students. I think the style of the teacher is very important too, each teacher has their own style which makes them different and unique.
In this unit, I learned about the different language levels and how it can be different teaching each level. Therefore, a good teacher should be aware of the students’ cultures and customs. Aware of the different problems and difficulties students have in some countries to learn English especially grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Additionally, I learned the 6 Common European Framework levels.
