This unit provided input on how to teach pronunciation and gave keys to understanding how to teach the concepts of phonology. As a vocal major I appreciate the review of IPA. I actually really enjoy understanding how words are formed. I enjoyed taking sentences and placing stress on different words to create a different meaning. I think intonation is fascinating and in my opinion some of the rules mentioned in this chapter do not fit exactly with the way I was raised to speak in the wild west of the United States.
