This unit gives an overview of phonology and pronunciation as a whole, as well as common trouble students have with pronouncing English words and ways of teaching pronunciation. The main things that I have learned from this unit are phonological concepts that are useful for explaining how certain intonations and stresses carry meaning (for example, how the stress on a particular word can convey the emphasis placed on that piece of information) and for explaining how sounds are produced by the mouth. English has a lot of sounds that aren't in some other languages, so it will be useful when teaching to be able to explain how to form certain sounds with the mouth, so that students can train that muscle-memory more consciously and effectively.
