This unit was a great overwview of why receptive skills are important, how to teach them and how to avoid common problems among learners. It's important to choose carefully the materials so that they are adapted to the student's levels, they are interesting for all of them and they are as realistic as possible, always within the student's level and knowledge. Some strategies to avoid problems are pre-teach difficult vocabulary, carefully select the material, creating tasks that favour the understanding and create interest within the classroom before jumping into the different activities.
