I believe that this is a more difficult task in teaching... managing a classroom. As the unit states, there are many things to take into consideration. From both of my experiences as a teacher's assistant and a student, the tips and examples I read in this unit prove to hold true. As a student there were definitely moments when group work or pair work was especially discouraging due to poor matches. I think that managing a class becomes easier after you've been given time to observe the class dynamic. Some students can get along very well and can become distracted. But the same is for a class that doesn't get along well, as they won't be as motivated in participation. This lesson gave me a little more of a build on to things I have already observed on my own. There are some extreme situations that I believe there could be more insight to. I'm not sure if this course will cover that. For example, in my current class we have a student who is on the Autistic spectrum. Before the teacher informed me about this, I had no idea how to best communicate with him in order to provide the best atmosphere for his learning and the other students. But, I believe with practice managing a classroom can be a easily learned skill.
