This unit discussed the different roles of teachers, the qualities of good teachers and learners, and the differences between learners of different ages and language abilities. The greatest thing I learned from this unit was the significance of the teacher's seemingly passive roles. When the teacher is not actively taking control of the class and the learners are engaged in an activity on their own, the teacher should not remain unoccupied. They need to observe their learners, serving as a resource to them and tutoring individuals when needed. By observing and assessing their learners, even while not involved in the activity, the teacher will be able to maintain organization in the class room and teach their students more accurately.
