This unit addressed the receptive skills of reading and listening. Reading and listening are two of the skills required to learn and use a language effectively. This unit discussed practical ways to teach each skill and provided advice about how to choose appropriate topics for students. I learned that it is important to have a clear goal in mind when introducing aural and visual material to students. I would have liked to have had some examples of how to pre-teach vocabulary words.
