Unit 11 focused on the two receptive skills, reading and listening, and the skills which these involve, such as predictive skills, scanning, skimming, finding detailed information, and deducing meaning from context. The unit took the need to learn reading and listening to deeper level by exploring the different kinds of reading and listening and their purposes. This lesson taught me how build my students' confidence in these areas, as well as how to motivate them by choosing topics which interest them.
