This unit has taught me about the wide range of different levels of learners, from beginners to advanced, that I may encounter in my class while abroad. As well as what qualities I need to have in order to be an effective, caring, and motivated teacher. I have learned the most successful ways to run a lesson. Such as knowing when to be a prompter during certain class activities or when it is necessary to take control of the class. I have a better understanding of the different levels students may be at, compared to other students in the class. I also learned that classes with adult students may actually be more interesting compared to a lesson with younger students. This is because adults will have more life experiences than younger students, therefore making it easier to relate to and build rapport with adult students.
