The lesson discussed the characteristics of a good teacher and a good learner, along with the different levels of language fluency from level A1 to level C2. A good teacher, above all else, must want the students to engage in class, engage with the language, and progress in their understanding and use of the language. In other words, the needs of the student come first. A good student needs to be willing to participate in activities and seek out help at any time. This could mean overcoming shyness. A good teacher will be sensitive to the different learning styles of different cultures of the students in any given class. A good teacher plays different roles during the process depending on what the students or even what one particular student needs at that time. These roles include organizer, model, prompter, assessor, facilitator and class controller.
