I've seen most of these techniques used off and on throughout my time in school. No one class ever had such a robust approach to teaching as to incorporate everything listed here into a singular experience. Writing things down ahead of time seems like a good way to not bog down a close and potentially bore them. It reminds me of a teacher who would have material prepared ahead of time on an overhead projector and slowly reveal the information by sliding down a sheet of paper. The focus on teacher talk time and student talk time was very valuable, especially as it related to activities and how to maximize student talk time. The section on correcting students paid special attention to the respect and dignity of the student and that is so valuable because it improves rapport, doesn't discourage future participation and limits the frustration that the student feels with their own progress or perceived lack of progress. It would be nice to have a classroom that could be adapted easily for rows, a horseshoe and tables but I expect that level of flexibility might be hard to find.
