In unit 3,I've come to learn about the different methodologies in teaching a language. The most essential methodologies in my point of view are as follows;
Suggestopaedia; Presentation,Practice and Production; the Lexical approach; task-based learning; grammar translation, Audio-lingualism;and more.
Since each of the methods has its positive and negative aspects, the following conclusions are drawn:
1)That students need as much exposure to language as possible.
2) That teachers should put in more efforts in their work with students.
3)That communicative task offer real learning possibilities but are not enough on their own.
4) Also that anxiety and stress need to be low for effective language learning.
5) Where possible students should be encouraged to discover language for themselves.
In conclusion, the theories, methods and techniques in learning language are based on the Engage, study,and Activate(ESA) approach.
