In the first lesson the teacher was not successful in arousing the students motivation.Teacher discourages students from the beginning of the class and as a result of that at the engage phase the students are reluctant to speak and answer.Teacher doesn't use mime, prompts when explaining and students find it difficult to understand the language point.student talk time is lesser that the teacher talk time.As a result of that many students make mistakes in the worksheet activity.
the lesson flows according to a patchwork ESA method and it was not a success.
The second lesson was conducted using straight arrow ESA method.The teacher approaches to the engage stage with using prompts ,materials and miming. He gets to know the names of the students and the students are heavily involved.The question about animals names is successful in making students get involved and start the language point. The language point is explained through a gap fill on the board and it is effectively intruded to the minds of the students.Onthe other hand the teachers pleasant behavior and explanations through the examples make the students successfully enrolled with the ESA stages of the lesson.
