This unit went over the basic grammar foundations of English. We broke apart sentences and gave each word a label and a job. This unit talked in depth about nouns and the types of nouns you will find and when to use them. An example of this is a countable noun versus an uncountable noun. A countable noun would be people, creatures, or information that can be counted while uncountable you can not count. We also researched ways to classify adjectives such as size, age, colour, material, and then the noun. We had to look closely and see which words classified into which part of speech. For example when we hear "i" we know it is a pronoun and when we hear "and" we know it is a conjunction because it is joining the words together. I learned a lot in this unit about the parts of speech. I had never thought too much about the parts of speech and their specific roles. I will be able to think more in depth as I write and read about correct forms of grammar.
