When teaching a class, it is important to not set any expectations of the students in the classroom. Using the ESA model allows the teacher to set the tone of the lesson and the level of motivation for the students' learning. In the first video, the teacher expressed a very firm, strict attitude that intimidated the students. Explaining that the lesson was easy only continued to discourage students from participating. While the worksheets given to the students had good content to practice the concepts of modal auxiliary verbs, no information regarding animals nor the verbs used in the worksheets were introduced in the Engage phase. The teacher established good rapport with the students introducing himself and learning their names at the beginning of the lesson. To engage the students, he tried to elicit various animals from the classroom. Furthermore, he did not explain the concept of modal auxiliary verbs, but rather applied its features and use when describing animals' abilities. In this way, he was able to convey a better understanding of the lesson and create activities for his students to use the information in a more practical waya
