In order to teach students correct pronunciation, one must be confident as it is neglected in English teaching. To be able to correct someone's pronunciation could be challenging for me. After studying this chapter and learning about the different ways to help improve pronunciation, I realise that it most probably won't be 100% perfect and that intelligibility should come first. To some students, understanding and speaking English is more important that the way they speak it and vise versa. By using fun activities in the class such as tongue twisters and peer dictation, learning how to pronounce different words and when to stress certain syllables can be achieved.
