In English, future tenses encompass grammatical forms that are used explicitly for future reference as well as for both present-tense and future-tense references. Each is used to convey a certain degree of formality (as in the case of will versus shall) and concreteness of the future reference (as in the case of the uncertain future simple versus the more certain future continuous), and each specific time reference should be taken into account when teaching these verb forms. Specific activity planning is very important for the future tenses since these forms could easily blur together, especially since the verbs "to have," "to be," and "to go" are present in verb forms for the present and past tenses as well as the future.
