To resume this unit, I can say that it covers Evaluating and testing theme. It started by describing the ways to assess student’s levels, tutorials, Evaluation by students and tests. After that, the unit shows the different kinds of test from the beginning to the end. Some are usually taken in language centers such as: placement tests, which are necessary for knowing student’s levels, diagnostic test designed to detect student’s difficulties, practice test for external examination preparation and progress test to see what students have learnt and what do they need more. At the end, the unit provides explanation about general external examination like TOEFL, TOEIC, Cambridge.
In this unit, I learnt how and why evaluations are necessary for both teachers and students, when to use each one of them and not to confuse between them. I also learnt that there are different external tests (I already knew the majority of them) but still it’s important to know what are they used for.
