In this unit we learn about the different form of the present tense. There are four main tenses that we look into. We use the present simple, the present continuous, the present perfect, and the present perfect continuous. We learn when and how to use each of these tenses in the affirmative, negative, and in a question form. We also are given activities to practice these forms for the activate stage. One activity that I plan on using in my next language class is using a questionnaire. This will allow my students to practice using the present tense in a number of different ways. It is important to note that each form has specific usages and will be important for language learners to know and understand. In my next class I plan to focus on the present continuous. They constantly are trying to use this form but get confused with keeping the verb to be in the present tense and adding an -ing to the verb following. I will be able to use what I have learned in this unit to better help my students understand how to use this tense.
