This unit covers the basis of grammar, vocabulary and language functions. Teaching vocabulary is very important and the difficulty or ease will depend on factors such as, similarity to students native language or English words already known, spelling and pronunciation and appropriacy. Teaching new language covers the criteria that can be used when selecting new vocabulary to teach and the techniques for teaching vocabulary. Various examples of ESA (engage, study, activate) lesson are also given for each area in teaching new language.
