Unit 2: parts of speech refreshed my memory of each part of a sentence. Every word in a sentence has a specific role to play. Nouns are the subject or object, adjectives describe a noun, articles are definite or indefinite, verbs are the action, adverbs add meaning to the verb, gerunds are the noun plus -ing, pronouns stand in place of a noun already introduced, prepositions show the relationship of the noun and other words in the sentence, and conjunctions join groups in a sentence. There are many sub categories to each part of speech that are important to master as the teacher in theory as well as speech to be able to teach your students correctly to be able to write and speak English as a native speaker.
