I feel that I have learned a lot about how to introduce vocabulary in a lesson. It was interesting to learn about how to choose which vocabulary words to teach. While it makes sense to gear the content towards the environment of the students, it was helpful to understand why this is important. The level of the student matters, and plays a role in which words are going to best be absorbed. Understanding what the student needs to know about the vocabulary words is important too. It makes it easier to steer the student in a direction that promotes learning of the word(s). I was also interested in how lessons related to vocabulary can, and should, be set up. Knowing which techniques to use, in which stage of the lesson, is vital for effective learning. Overall, I feel like I understand better how to organize lessons for vocabulary. While there are multiple approaches to consider, I see how important it is to develop a clear structure that effectively helps the student absorb the material.
