A good teacher will always be patient and kind, and genuinely love to teach and interact with students every day! I think it is very important to get to know the students, and remember that their past experiences are going to affect how they learn and participate in the classroom. A student's motivation and desire to learn can be affected by the culture they were raised in, and also their past learning experiences. For this reason, it's important to teach in a variety of roles. Speak to the class as a whole (manager or controller), but also participate in activities as an equal, always encourage students, and sometimes even work as a tutor when you feel that an individual student or group might need some guidance.
