In this Unit i've learnt that there are 5 different types of nouns, Common (animals, things) Proper (names, places) Compound (2 nouns together i.e bookcase) Abstract (not physical i.e intelligence or democracy) and Collective (group i.e family or herd) also you can class a noun as Countable (a, an, the) or Uncountable. That you have Pronouns which can replace nouns when talking about oneself or about others, there are 4 types of pronouns, personal, possessive, reflexive and relative. I have learnt that Adjectives are descriptive words (old, short, big) Comparatives (older, bigger) and Superlatives (oldest, biggest). Verbs (doing words) can be action verbs or state verbs and can be transitive (followed by an object) or intransitive. i've learnt that Adverbs basically ad to verbs and that there are 9 different types, also there are Infinitives which are Verbs as a whole (to go, to cry, to dream). There are Gerunds which are words with ing on the end which can be subjects, verbs or objects and there are Conjunctions which join words of the same class.
