I have learned two major things: the various ways in which a teacher can maximize the learning experience for students of different skill levels and key factors that influence a student's experience from their learning approach and motivation. Teachers need to be student-centered and use a variety of approaches in the classroom to maintain engagement. For example, a teacher should join in class activities when appropriate but should also have the self-awareness to know the extent of their involvement. Teachers need to be aware of the role they place when speaking and teaching English because students tend to look up to their teachers. So serving as a facilitator, a tutor, and manager to support the student and let them know you are invested in their success is a key part of the learning journey. Students also have different skill levels and it is important for a teacher to understand their context and deliver the learning with that in mind.
