In reflection, I've learned that as an ESL teacher, I should expect to have learners of varying ages and abilities ranging from beginners to upper intermediate. Additionally, it is important that I'm insightful and sensitive to multicultural differences. For example, Asian students are less likely communicate unless addressed directly by the teacher. With keen understanding of cultural differences as the example cited, a good teacher uses this information to create and apply a variety of instructional and assessment skills to facilitate a robust learning experience for students.
