In the unit i have learnt about intonation which is the variation of volume and pitch in a whole sentence or sometimes in a single word. the 3 main intonations are a rise and fall which is the most common and indicates that the speaker is finished speaking and then there is the fall and rise which can indicate that the speaker is in disagreement or that they are surprised and that the speaker would like a response. Then there is the flat tone which indicates that there is no interest. I've also learnt that the stress of a single word with in a sentence can change the context of the statement. I've learnt that there are several speech organs such as the tongue, the larynx and the hard and soft palate, and that there to help teach articulation you can draw diagrams of a mouth or introduce symbols. i'm pretty tired now so please don't be too cross that i've left a load of stuff out, thank you.
