This unit reiterates the need for a stronger understanding of grammar and the tenses needed to be known to not only understand the context of the sentence but also to produce language in a articulate understandable way. When studying this I learned that it is confusing to understand when to use the right structure and that as a teacher, I should be hyper aware of this in order to teach students effectively. For example, it may be difficult to understand the difference between “I will be going home” and “I will go home”. One indicates that you will go home in the near future or at a planned time but the other is more abstract and could mean right now or possibly in the future. The small difference would be hard to catch by a non-native speaker.
