This unit gave an outline of the various parts of speech that form English sentences. Nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs were all covered in their varying states. Differing types of the mentioned parts were given to illustrate how words are used differently in English. For example, verbs may be transitive or instransitive, nouns may be countable or uncountable, and adjectives and adverbs can be normal, comparative, or superlative. Finally, prepositions, articles, and the gerund were also included.
