Methods, theories and techniques of teaching were discussed in this unit. I was taught the various types of teaching methods for teaching EFL that have been used over the years, some more effective than others in my opinion. Although there is no particular best method, I was also shown that all these theories still draw the same conclusions, for example, that students must be exposed to the language as much as possible, anxiety and stress need to be low for effective learning etc. the ESA (Engage, Study, Activate) method was also introduced and I learnt the correct way to correct student’s errors and mistakes. It was very new to me as I was not aware that there are specific ways in which a student should be corrected in reference to the self-correction, student-student correction and teacher-student correction. When I was a student myself, the only method of correction most of my teachers adopted all the time was the teacher-student mode of correction. So it was interesting to know about other ways a student can be corrected and still being cautious about their self-esteem when learning
