This unit is about conditionals and reported speech. Conditionals are sentences which refer to past, present and future possibilities. Conditional sentences contain two clauses: the "if" clause contains the condition that must be met for the action in the main clause to be achieved. Direct speech is what people say in a conversation. Reported speech happens when someone reports what has been said by someone else previously. The key learning for me in this unit is in relation to conditionals and their various forms and usages. I had previously not been aware of the complexity associated with this aspect of language.
