This unit covered teaching a new language (English Language in this case) to students focusing on the vocabulary, grammar and functions of the language. Examples of types of ESA that can be applied when teaching vocabulary, grammar and functions were also mentioned in this unit. I was also taught about the factors to consider when teaching, when selecting and what students need to know about vocabulary and grammar. I personally liked the saying that grammar is the tree trunk and branches of a language while vocabulary and functions are the leaves that add beauty and variety. After properly going through the unit and taking the practice task, I believe I am slowly but surely getting better at being able to properly apply ESA methods in creating simple and fun but effective techniques that would help students learn English better.
