This unit focuses on what makes a good teacher, qualities, and responsibilities a teacher must have in a classroom. For example, a teacher should be kind, understanding, and cares about his or her students. Later on in unit 1, I learned about the roles a teacher must acquire and how important is to switch between these roles effectively. In addition, some important characteristics a student should learn is how to experiment with the language, willingness to listen, ask questions, thing about methods, error correction, and the desire to learn. These characteristics will help a student to expand their knowledge and become a good learner. It's important to differentiate young and adult learners, so adults are likely to come with their own history of success. While young learners will have some prior learning experience and they're more open minded and eager to learn a new language. A great teacher will always motivate their students and it's important to remember cultural differences. Cultural differences might affect the relationship between the teacher and student, so it's ideal for the teacher to understand and learn about their culture to avoid any misunderstanding.
