In the Unit i have learnt that like present tense, there are 4 past tenses, Past Simple, Past Continuous, Past Perfect and Past Perfect Continuous. Past Simple tenses are actions completed at a definite period of time in the past. Past Continuous tenses can be used for interrupted past actions or to indicate gradual developments in the past. Some examples of past perfect are: He had eaten 5 cakes before breakfast. ex2: She had not liked the cup. Past Perfect Continuous is to talk about longer actions or situations in the past that had been going on continuously. Some teaching ideas i've learnt from this unit are Interview or detective role-play, narrative storey with past continuous and past perfect, or getting students to tell a storey backwards.
