I have learned the parts of speech in this Unit. More specifically, I have learned that there is a need to understand why the language is structured the way it is so that when you are teaching, you can explain and justify the choices. I also learned that you need to be aware of the exceptions to the rule. I have learned the difference between gerunds which are verbs used as subjects. I don't agree that adverbs should always be placed after the object of the verb. For example, you can have 'She quickly put her clothes on so that she wouldn't be late." Quickly here is used before the verb put and it still works.
