During unit 10, we watched two videos that presented two different scenarios in a classroom. The first video, the teacher directly went to the grammar portion of the lesson of 'what is an auxiliary verb' (can/can't). This lesson was unsuccessful because of the teachers presentation, character, and voice. He was very forceful when presenting the topic, and did not provide any information or examples for the students to go off of. In addition, he kept saying "it's very easy" which made the students feel scared to participate in case they got the answer wrong.
As for the second video, the teacher was very successful when presenting the lesson. He used a straight arrow ESA plan that engaged the students by asking them what animals they new, and then moving forward presenting what the animals can or can't do. Mark used worksheets for the study phase and then he used the activate phase for them to speak out on what they wrote down during their study phase.
