This unit gave numerous examples of characteristics of good teachers and good students. It breaks up the basic introduction of learning into teachers and students. On the teacher portion of the unit, there is information concerning the various roles that teachers have, including observer/monitor prompter, organizer, model, and manager/controller. As far as the student portion of the unit, there are levels of language that a student may be at, from beginner to advanced and the other 4 levels in between. It also explains the differences between adult and young learners. Mainly, adult learners want to be there and are more motivated and have less behavior problems. Young learners don't usually have a preconceived notion about how they like to learn and can be instructed in different ways without becoming confused.
