Native speakers don't usually think about grammar. Basically, you never think about the rules of grammar when speaking your native language. You only realize this content when teaching other persons. Advantage of being non-native speaker is understanding of importance of this area and ability to explain it. Of course, good teachers always understand this point, but I saw many teachers who think "it's obvious!". Grammar is not so obvious! Grammar is mysterious... sometimes.
