From this unit, I came to know the productive skills, speaking and writing. Speaking and writing are equally important in language teaching field. When it comes to speaking teaching, teachers should encourage students to attach more importance to the correct language itself as well as producing the language more creatively. Students might be reluctant to speak English due to various factors, such as lack of confidence, afraid of making mistakes. However, teachers have to come up with activities or even games to involve students and provide comfortable environment for students to actively participate. As for writing, there are several elements to be considered, such as spelling, layout and punctuation. In a nutshell, speaking and writing are both critical skills for students to master.
