This unit included the different roles of the teacher, the characteristics of a good teacher and learner, the different language levels, and some general differences between young learners and adults. This unit has taught me more about the different roles of the teacher, which is useful for self-reflection on my own actions in the classroom. For instance, when reflecting on why a unit may not have been received properly by my students, I can consider whether I was in the proper role required by the situation (ex: the situation required me to manage less and assess more). Additionally, the information on the different levels of fluency (beginner to advanced) will be useful in providing more detailed assessments of my students' abilities.
