The troubleshooting unit covered how I can survive my first class. New groups need warmers that will allow the students to get to know each other and myself; I should participate in the warmer. Existing groups already know each other but need to have warmer activities to get to know and feel comfortable with me as their a new teacher. The unit also taught about how to deal with certain things that may arise while teaching such as dealing with large classes and reluctant students who are not participating. With large classes, it is a good idea to utilize the students to make the flow of the class go better. For example, I can have group leaders that keep their group mates in order or helpers to assist me with passing out materials. Shy or nervous students should be given the chance to record themselves speaking so I can play it back and correct their mistakes that way.
