In this unit, I have learnt about the different teaching methodologies such as grammar translation, task based learning and audio lingualism etc. What I’ve found more interesting however, was the idea of ESA and the various examples of activities to encourage students to engage with enthusiasm. I myself know of a few fun games that could help students learn some English vocabulary and it is great to know how to incorporate that idea into the ‘engage’ stage of ESA. I think the ESA is a great learning tool for any kind of learning, engaging and participating, then going over the new ideas and familiarising yourself with it, before revising it during ‘activation’ to store the idea into long term memory. What I like best about ESA is that it can make learning fun and effective for all age group students, with the right kind of approach.
