Unit 1 is divided into two main parts. The first one is devoted to the qualities of a good teacher and the roles that the teacher plays at different stages of a lesson.The second part of the unit is about the learners. As a good teacher should care about the learners it is important to understand their specificities(including age, culture, learning and life experience).
To sum up, I'd like to say that the unit is very informative. The description of the roles encourages reader to revise his or her teaching experience according to new information and shows how the teacher can make his or her lessons more effective and motivating for the learners.
