Unit 13 was not easy to grasp. To start with,stress concepts were very confusing and quite complicated. I also found a hard time trying to grasp the concepts of articulation, I ended up thinking that I was not studying Biology. Moreover the "manner and place of articulation" chart was confusing as well. However I found joy and understanding with the phonemic symbols though they were not easy initially. I ended up having a negative attitude towards the end of the unit as I convinced myself that there is nowhere one would teach the concepts of articulation in an english lesson environment. This unit however was an eye openner to the other English Language side that I never thought existed. This unit also drove home the point that English language is a very broad aspect such that, it is impossible for one to claim that he/she knows it all.
