What resonated with me in this lesson on lesson planning was how important it is to use a systematic approach to instruction with room for flexibility. Knowing, stating and communicating the objectives of a lesson will take practice and is vital to the overall lesson. Understanding the ESA approach was also solidified for me during this unit. For example, activating background knowledge in the Engage phase and using multiple activities in the Activate phase.
